The ventilation of the pumping stations ensures the removal of heat generated by the mechanisms during operation, and also prevents the temperature from rising in the block box.

The main indicator in the design of the ventilation of a sewage pumping station is the volume of air passed through.

To calculate the ventilation of sewage pumping stations, it is necessary to take into account the location and number of the following components: air ducts, grilles, valves, temperature sensors.

The temperature in the hall of the pumping station should be in the range from +5 to +45 degrees.

Ventilation of the pumping station is necessary to provide fresh air to employees, as well as to create appropriate conditions for the operation of the equipment.

For rooms of the main control panel, offices of employees and dispatchers provide a system of comfortable air conditioning. Pumping ventilation is required in the machine rooms and pump rooms.

The most effective method is the supply and exhaust ventilation of the sewage pumping station on mechanical traction.

When calculating pump ventilation, the following indicators are taken into account:

  • Humidity;
  • The speed of air masses
  • Temperature.

All pump rooms are divided into three categories of severity:

  • The first one is cabinets, control rooms, communications, switchboards;
  • The second "A" of medium gravity for distribution cabins and cable;
  • The second "B" of moderate severity, this category includes ventilation of pumping, machine and battery rooms.

According to technical standards, it is necessary to install separate ventilation systems for rooms with equipment and other rooms. It is allowed to mount general ventilation systems of the sewage pumping station only by supplying them with adjustable gates. The gate is closed during a fire or other force majeure circumstances. It is forbidden to combine ventilation systems of flammable rooms and electric machines.

In most cases, pump ventilation is equipped based on circular ventilation ducts. The diameter of the cross-sections is chosen in accordance with the required air exchange rate.
