Ventilation mode for clean indoor air

Cleanrooms are called rooms in which a certain amount of dust particles, chemical fumes, microbes are contained in the air. The ventilation of clean rooms controls temperature, humidity and pressure. Cleanrooms are being built in medical and research centers, factories for the production of electronics and medicines.

During the construction process, the minimum penetration of dust into it and the impossibility of its accumulation are provided.

Cleanliness is ensured by clean ventilation. The scheme for creating air purity is to create excess pressure compared with adjacent rooms. And this is achieved by increasing the flow of air over the outflow by 20 percent or more in halls without windows and by 30 percent or more if the room faces the street. Thus, the regime of clean ventilation allows the removal of air from a clean room to the surrounding. Clean air is ensured by filtration. Special filters trap 99.99% of particles with a diameter of 0.12 microns.

Air movement in clean rooms

The ventilation mode of clean air has a number of features specified in the relevant GOSTs. Air jets in rooms should be directed laminarly downward, without turbulence. This direction of air blows particles of dust and dirt from the mechanisms and people down.

In addition, air is supplied in such a way that there are no stagnant corners in the room. The temperature and humidity of the air supplied by the units are also regulated.

There are three levels to keep indoor air clean: moderate, medium, and hard.

The ventilation mode of clean air is provided by the following equipment:

  • Exhaust, supply, recirculating fans;
  • Mechanisms for air intake;
  • Finish filters;
  • Air distributors;
  • The mechanisms regulating the movement of air;
  • Sensors
  • Regulatory equipment;
  • Gateways
  • Remote Control;
  • Fan modules with filters;
  • Transfer windows.

Cleanroom air parameters

According to international standards, the regime of clean ventilation should provide an air speed of 0.35 to 0.51 meters per second with an error of 20 percent. The lower limit is allowed for rooms with a small number of employees performing clean, sedentary work.

It is recommended to install air exchange 30 to 60 times per hour.
