Types of exhaust ventilation: natural, mechanical, forced and their prices

What are the ventilation systems in a private house?

The correct ventilation device within a private house should occur according to a certain principle. To begin with, the air exchange is calculated and the cross-sections of the ducts are selected, then the type of ventilation system is selected and its complete scheme is drawn up, where the installation site of the corresponding equipment, the place of fresh air intake and exhaust air extraction are marked. Exhaust ventilation, the price of which varies greatly from the selected equipment and the spatial characteristics of the house, is natural, mechanical and forced.

Natural ventilation by ventilation

With natural ventilation, various effects should be considered, depending on the degree and duration of opening windows and doors.

Ventilating the room by ajar window or by slightly opening the frame of the plastic window in the micro-ventilation mode is characterized by the following nuances:

  • the room loses a large amount of heat;
  • complete exchange of air occurs only after 35-70 minutes;
  • As a result of such ventilation in winter, the window unit cools down very much, harmful condensation may form on the slopes.

At the same time, airing with open windows and the front door gives everyone in the house a dangerous draft for health, even for only 5 minutes.

The best natural exhaust ventilation is to quickly ventilate for 5-10 minutes, by opening several windows, which will not allow the window structures to cool much.

Mechanical exhaust ventilation

For the well-being of residents and guests of a private house, it is important both the presence of fresh and warm air in it, and the speed of movement of the air mass. After all, the lower the speed of the air flow, the more cozy and comfortable it becomes in the house. The air exchange using mechanical exhaust ventilation is much greater than in the case of natural ventilation alone. And this is due to different standardized indicators of air velocity in the ventilation system.

Mechanical ventilation provides an average speed of 4 m3 per hour, and natural no more than 1 m3 per hour, so the latter is more comfortable for people to stay in the house.

However, mechanical exhaust ventilation has one indisputable advantage. The thing is that a lower air velocity along the channel requires a larger cross-section.

Forced exhaust ventilation

This exhaust ventilation, the price of which can be quite democratic, is a layout of exhaust fans on the premises of a certain house. Clean air enters the house from the air intakes located on the windows or walls of the building, and the old and stagnant air is extracted from the premises of high humidity, most often the kitchen or the bathroom, using exhaust fans.

The main advantage of forced exhaust ventilation is the control of the amount of air extracted from a private house. This system works flawlessly with the automatic fan start system as it reaches the set humidity limit for indoor air.
