The implementation of autonomous water supply, unfortunately, is not limited to well drilling. An important role is also played by its subsequent arrangement. There are two types of equipment. It is impossible to answer unequivocally that it is better - a caisson or a downhole adapter, since each installation has both advantages and disadvantages.
Comparative analysis of caisson and downhole adapter
To understand what is best suited in a particular case, you need to understand what each type of equipment is.
Downhole adapter
A miniature part is installed below the level of freezing of the soil. With the onset of cold weather, the water will not freeze. - Automation and tank must be installed in the living room.
- Limited scope. Water can be supplied only in a constantly heated room.

Caisson for wells
The main task of the caisson is to shelter the well head from freezing and to divert pipes below the level of freezing of the soil. Unlike the adapter, this type of equipment allows you to make a conclusion to various buildings, for example, to bring pipes to several houses.
In addition, pressure automatics and a membrane tank are placed in the caisson. All connections in the device are located in the field of visibility, they can be easily inspected and serviced. In more detail about other advantages of the equipment:
- No restrictions on the depth of immersion.
- The equipment extremely rarely fails, but if necessary it is easy to maintain and carry out repair and preventive measures.
- Water is drained separately for each building.
As for the minuses, the most significant is the high cost.
When do you install adapters
Arrangement of a source with a downhole adapter is carried out in the following cases:
- When the source freezes with the arrival of cold weather for a certain period of time.
- With a very limited budget.
- If necessary, urgent installation.
- When the communication lines are nearby.
The adapter has a low cost, and also helps to save time and money on installation. Installing a downhole adapter is a fairly simple task; you can complete all the installation work in a few hours.

When to install a caisson
Under any circumstances, it is always preferable to install a caisson. The only option when you can do without it: the owners of the well have a small house.
If we are talking about the presence of a gazebo, garage, bathhouse, summer crane and other buildings on the plot, you will have to install more expensive equipment. This is due to its versatility.
If a caisson is installed, in the future it will be possible to quickly replace the submersible pump. The adapter also allows you to do this, but often its surfaces are stuck, which complicates the dismantling process. With the caisson installed, maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair are carried out without difficulty.
The high cost of the box is justified by the excellent build quality, long operating period, ease of installation and a wide range of applications.
