Comparative analysis
Distinctive features of pumping stations are their compact size, ease of installation and maintenance, reasonable cost. The equipment is equipped with a special reservoir for water storage, which allows it to turn on less frequently, and this reduces energy consumption and increases the operational life.
Submersible pumps are placed under water in the well, and the pumping station is installed on the surface in the basement. The room must be heated, otherwise the likelihood of freezing of the water supply line increases.
The principle of operation of both units is similar, but the pumping station is characterized by a more complex structure. It consists of the following parts:
- hydraulic accumulator;
- pipes;
- pump;
- safety valve;
- relay, due to which the entire system is turned on and off;
- backstop valve;
- purification system from impurities.
Expensive modifications are additionally equipped with parts from overheating of the engine and work without water.
The submersible pump is designed for operation in a humid environment. Therefore, the device is equipped with the same parts as the previous one, but in addition there is also a float, which, when the water level in the well drops sharply, opens the circuit and the unit shuts down.

Criterias of choice
When choosing equipment for an autonomous water supply system, one should not rely on personal preferences, but on the following selection criteria:
- The diameter of the well, as well as the size of the casing.
- The presence and size of solid particles in well water.
- The daily volume of water consumed is determined by the number of inhabitants and the presence of plumbing and household appliances.
- The remoteness of the water intake point.
- Dynamic and static water level in the well.
- The debit is the maximum volume indicators that the source can provide.
With the right choice of a pumping station or a submersible pump, the water supply system will work without interruptions, the use of the water supply system will be comfortable.
What to give preference to
Each type of equipment is purchased, installed and used for specific purposes. It is recommended to install a pump station in combination with a centrifugal surface pump if the liquid level in the well does not fall below 8 meters. Compared with immersion counterparts, the installation and maintenance of such equipment will be not only easy, but also less expensive, and productivity and power will be sufficient.
If the level of well liquid is more than 8 meters, it is better to give preference to submersible equipment, which, with its technical characteristics, will satisfy all the needs of households. The cost of deep pumps is slightly higher, but the service life with proper installation and maintenance is much greater.
