We consider the question of heating a two-story house with our own hands

Two-pipe heating of a two-story house

The larger the house, the greater the area it will have to be heated, so you need to decide which heating to choose for it. Two-pipe heating of a two-story house is considered more convenient, since it evenly distributes heat to all rooms. However, the consumption of pipes on it is much larger, and it is more difficult to mount it. Typically, the supply circuit of such heating is such that hot water flows through one pipe for heating, and a cooled or return pipe comes out from the second, as they say. This method of heating is similar to a central heating system, differing only in that you will heat the water for it in the cottage yourself.

Such two-pipe heating of a two-story house allows you to mount the boiler in the attic, and also to install underfloor heating in the house. Such a heating system provides a guarantee that it will be warm in your home anywhere, and if necessary, you can always turn off any radiator in case of repairs and other purposes.

A rather expensive and complicated way of installing heating pays off in the future, as it makes it possible to correctly distribute heat. In addition, there are two ways to connect such heating, this is the radial type and serial. Radiation involves the supply and return to each of the heating devices, and the other, gives the wiring of water from a common pair of pipelines. However, the radiant heating method is suitable only for one-story houses, so there is only one way - a sequential one.

One-pipe heating of a two-story house is economical to assemble, and will cost less, but it has its drawbacks. For example, it will not be possible to block one radiator, if you suddenly needed to do this, since all the devices are interconnected with each other, this is one big pipe with hot water. Therefore, saving on installation, you will not get a very convenient effect. Another of the minuses that one-pipe heating of a two-story house carries is that the radiators at the beginning of the circuit will receive more heat than the last batteries. Such heating is possible in houses of a small area, when the difference in heat in another room is not significant for you, because there are only two of them.

Any DIY heating of a two-story house can be done according to the scheme that is listed on the site, the main thing is to calculate the pipe passage area in order to know how much you will need for installation. For this purpose, you can choose copper and metal-plastic pipes, and in some cases they take pipes made of galvanized and stainless steel. Plastic is not very durable and sometimes flows, and copper has a rather high cost, in any case, it is up to you to decide whether to do the heating yourself with a two-story house.
