Country house heating: do it yourself

Doing home heating with your own hands is not so simple if you have not encountered this before. However, having studied the diagrams and drawings, you will be able to complete it under the guidance of specialists. Not everyone lives in the country all year round, so water heating is not suitable for everyone.

In general, it is necessary to choose the heating of a country house with your own hands from the following positions:

  • Make stove heating: install heat-accumulating or convection ovens;
  • Fireplace heating;
  • Water heating;
  • Electric heating.

If you install the stove, the house warms up slowly, but the heating is enough for 6-12 hours. True, if you do not heat the furnace, it will cool. Convection ovens heat the house quickly, but also depend on the constant supply of fuel material.

The most convenient is the fireplace, which quickly heats the room to the desired temperature, giving off heat like a bonfire. However, you will have to constantly monitor so that open fire does not spoil your property. The fireplace is good for short visits, as it is difficult for them to warm the whole house. One of the most profitable ways to make heating at the cottage is with heat guns, fan heaters, they quickly heat the air in the right place.

Also, infrared heaters that heat objects, not air, have recently been used. By installing them in the places necessary for heating, you can easily do the heating for your own home.

Water heating cottages

If you live in a summer cottage all year round, you can install boilers and complete water heating. It is more economical than electric, but such a system cannot be defrosted. Such a boiler can run on natural gas or liquid fuel if there is no gas pipeline nearby. But you will have to conduct heating for a summer residence with your own hands, that is, install radiators, pipes, that is, a heat distribution system should be thought out.

Choose what seems optimal to you, but do not forget that stove heating will require the creation of chimneys, and if they are not designed in advance, then the work will be very difficult. The easiest way is to plan the heating of the house before you start living there, because boilers need extra space, and chimneys are needed for stoves and a fireplace. Estimate at once all the pros and cons that you need to heat the house. Also, in case of a power outage, do not forget that you must have an alternative heat source so as not to freeze in winter.
