Overview of sewer pipes Pragma

The two-layer elements of the Pragma sewer pipeline are made of the latest generation of polypropylene. They are manufactured by the Pipe Life brand from Austria. According to European standards, the corrugated outer surface of the pipes is red, and the inner one is smooth grayish-white, which is convenient for television inspection. Technical specifications fully comply with Russian GOSTs.

Scope of use of the Pragma pipes

Pipes Pragma for external sewage

The scope of the elements:

  • household needs;
  • abstraction of surface water flows;
  • removal of industrial effluents;
  • soil drainage;
  • arrangement of agricultural cleaning networks.

With their help, sewage ducts are organized in embankments of highways, port terminals and airports. Most often, the elements are used when installing a gravity sewer network or stormwater, as well as drainage systems.

Specifications

Polypropylene products "Pragma" - are produced according to the technology of coextrusion of two layers. In the process of joining, hollow sections appear in the waves of the corrugation, which make pipe parts easier and increase ring stiffness. A hermetically welded socket is located at one end of the pipe segment, and a groove with a rubber sealing part is located at the other end.

Two main types of pipe elements are produced: Pragma with an index of ring stiffness of 8 kN / sq.m and Pragma PRO16 - 16 kN / sq.m.

The main design features are:

  • creep coefficient - less than 4;
  • ring flexibility - more than 30 percent;
  • maximum laying depth - up to 10 m;
  • tightness guarantee - up to 0.5 bar.

The dimensions of the pipelines for the Pragma sewage system are calculated according to the external section - from 160 to 1140 mm. The length of the pipes is 6 or 12 m. The last option is more economical in terms of cost and installation time.

Advantages and disadvantages

Polypropylene sewage system made of Pragma pipes has the following advantages:

  • lack of deposits on the walls and high transmittance due to the extremely smooth surface inside;
  • the possibility of television inspection;
  • immunity to rotting and mold;
  • light weight;
  • ease of cutting during installation - you can use an ordinary saw;
  • resistance to ultraviolet and aggressive environments;
  • dielectric qualities;
  • resistance to high and low temperatures.

The pipeline is able to withstand long-term operation at 60 degrees Celsius and short-term drains of hot water up to 95 degrees. Pipes are designed for 100 cycles of freezing and thawing without loss of technical indicators. You can mount them in the cold up to 25 degrees.

The disadvantage of polymer pipes is their sensitivity to strong mechanical stress, which can cause cracks and dents. In Pragma corrugated pipes this minus is leveled due to additional rigidity arising due to the corrugated surface. This allows you to hold significant ground loads and lay the pipeline even in tight soils and under highways.

The only drawback of Pragma products is the rather high price.

Mounting Features

Thanks to the bells at one end of the pipe segment and seals at the other, it is not difficult to assemble the Pragma system.

The connection is carried out in three stages:

  1. Cleaning the connected areas from dirt and foreign objects. The sealant should already be in place.
  2. Silicone lubrication of the seal and the socket part from the inside.
  3. The connection of the two sections to the stop.

For a stronger joint, use a lever or an excavator bucket.To protect the pipe from damage, use a gasket from a wooden cross member.

The second way to assemble the pipeline is using couplings. It is suitable for short branches and is carried out as follows:

  1. Cut the pipe to the required size (in the intercostal groove).
  2. They clean and trim the place of saw cut.
  3. Connect the two parts with a fitting in the same way as in the first case of assembly.

If silicone-based grease is not available, use a highly concentrated soap solution. The use of greases containing oils and fats is not recommended. Such compositions reduce the quality of the o-ring, and, as a consequence, the tightness of the connection.

If the installation is carried out at a temperature below zero, glycerin or alcohol is added to the composition. Before joining in cold, the sealant is heated in hot water (about 80 degrees).

The Pragma pipe segments can be connected with cast-iron, steel or PVC sewage elements. The articulation is created using transition fittings for soft materials.
