Grand Line Gutter System Overview

Gutters Grand Line domestic production is distinguished by a budget price with a fairly high quality. The installation looks noble, strong and durable. It is suitable for any architectural solution and style of the building thanks to the classic lines and a wide range of shades.

Varieties of Grand Line systems

Russian manufacturers offer two types of metal drainage systems: Grand Line Premium and Optima. Plastic Rohrfit Meister models are also available in durable polymer with a rounded type of parts. It is characterized by increased stiffness of the brackets. The system is sealed with special red seals.

The Optima line is presented in a round and rectangular section. Dimensions 127x91 and 103x78 mm. This is a budget option for a metal gutter with an inexpensive polyester coating or even just galvanized.

The Grand Line Premium range with semicircular elements is made in steel with different types of protection. This can be a double-sided polyurethane coating or an Aluzinc galvanic protective layer. Two types of such systems are available in different sizes.

Option 125 × 90 mm is suitable for a small country house. The devices of this series are inexpensive, durable and reliable. Despite the small cross section of the pipe, the water leaves quickly due to the increased length of the gutter.

Option 150 × 100 mm will provide melt water and rainfall drainage even from a large cottage with a wide roof. Suitable for industrial buildings. The device is economical: one funnel is enough for 150 cm of the gutter.

Advantages and disadvantages of installations

Gutters “Grand Line” have many advantages:

  • high throughput;
  • increased strength and resistance to deformation due to galvanized steel with a thickness of 0.6 mm;
  • resistance to temperature extremes, ultraviolet radiation and chemicals;
  • anticorrosive qualities of any type of coating.

Depending on the variety of systems, you can choose one of six shades of the device. This will allow you to perfectly combine it with the elements of the building in any style.

The design meets European standards EN612. The manufacturer gives a written guarantee for 30 years of operation. He also ensures that the drain does not lose color brightness for 10 years.

It is possible to mount the structure even in a 10-degree frost. The temperature range at which the technical and operational qualities of the system are maintained is from minus 60 to plus 120 degrees.

When choosing a design with a polymer coating, the owner of a private house can not be afraid of the aggressive effects of the environment. Aluzinc galvanic protective layer even surpasses plastic in anticorrosion and strength properties. Elements with Aluzinc coating have a natural steel sheen and an original pattern, which contributes to the use of this type of drain for design solutions.

Of the drawbacks of the steel-based construction, only the sound of falling water can be noted, as with heavy rain on the roof. Plastic is not as shockproof as metal.

Design features

The device is designed taking into account the Russian climate, it can be installed in any region of the country. The gutter part of the structure is deepened by a quarter in comparison with analogues, which proportionally enhances throughput.

The main design details are:

  • hook chutes;
  • funnels for draining precipitation from the gutter into the pipe;
  • plugs for sealing grooved ends;
  • connecting corners and knees;
  • drain pipes;
  • additional elements and accessories.

If it is necessary to reduce the gutter or pipe, you need to do this with a hacksaw or scissors for metal. When using a grinder, there is a risk of damage to the protective coating.

Installation of a spillway is simple. It is important when considering the details of the system to consider whether the roofing material is laid on the roof. If so, use long hooks. They are attached to the crate elements, rafters. If the roof is already covered, shorter holders will be required. They are attached to the windshield.

Further step-by-step instructions for installing the system:

  1. Calculate the number of funnels depending on the area of the roof. One such piece with a pipe can serve 120 "squares".
  2. At the planned mounting points for the funnels, make V-shaped cuts approximately 10 cm wide in the grooves.
  3. Attach the funnel, securing it with the folded section onto the outer groove. Bend the locking “petals” into the gutter.
  4. Put plugs on the groove ends. Coat the joints with silicone sealant. The part that is tightly bent on the inner section of the gutter, strengthen with a self-tapping screw.
  5. Insert the gutter into the holder so that the outer edge of the hook is inside the gutter curl. After that, fasten the other gutter edge with the patch plate.
  6. Fit the cornice striker with its lower part in the gutter. This will protect the windshield from moisture.
  7. To connect the gutter segments or the gutter with a corner, use special connecting elements that make the structure leakproof. For their installation, it is required to bend the lock of the docking part to a right angle. Put it with the curved part on the back side of the gutter, align and snap on the outside.
  8. Fix the pipe holders in increments of no more than 2 m between them and at least two for each pipe section. First of all, in the articulation areas.
  9. Join the elbows with the pipes, align the entire structure, connect the mounted drain to the funnel.
  10. Adjust the position of the brackets and close their locking devices using special clips on the clamps.

The edge of the roof should hang over the gutter by 5 cm. The extension of the slope line from the gutter edge is at a distance of approximately 40 mm. In practice, this distance is different - from 20 mm at the beginning to 70 mm at the end - due to the location of the gutter under a slight slope.

The pipe elbow should be located at a distance of about 20 cm from the surface, otherwise splashes of water will flood the basement of the building. To drain drains faster, it is recommended to organize a separate storm sewer system.

The cost of the drain

The cost is calculated depending on the model and design characteristics of the drain: material, thickness, type of protective layer.

The price of plastic constructions and “Optima” models of the “Grand Line” drainage system is from 90 rubles per linear meter. The cost of a running meter of constructions of the Premium line is from 190 rubles.

If you purchase parts separately, a three-meter long gutter will cost about 770 rubles, hooks and plugs in the region of 150 rubles, a three-meter pipe - 1000 rubles, funnels and rings - 320 rubles. The Premium kit for a large house will cost about 16,000 rubles. "Optima" on a small "- about 6000 rubles.

The installation of the drain allows timely removal of rain and melt water, which can destroy the foundation, facade and roof of the building. The Grand Line system is suitable for these purposes due to its good transmittance, durability and low price.
