How to bring water supply from a well to a private house with your own hands

For a comfortable life outside the city, it is important to bring all communications to the house. One of them is the water supply. A good solution is to conduct water into the house from the well with your own hands. The entire amount of work can be completed in one to two days.

The device of the water supply of a private house from the well

A competent water supply project significantly increases the durability of the entire system

Making a decision to bring water to the house from a mine source, the master receives a number of such advantages:

  • The relatively low cost of installation work, in contrast to drilling a well and installing a pipeline from it.
  • The life of an autonomous source is on average 20 years.
  • A clear diagram of the piping to the house.
  • The possibility of a collector wiring device for a house, sauna, pool and watering, provided that the flow rate of the source is sufficient.

For the installation of a water supply system in a private house from a well, it is desirable to make sure that an autonomous source is located in a small distance from the building. Then you will have to use a smaller footage of pipes and carry out less labor-intensive land work.

Preparatory work

At the preparation stage, it is important to draw up a detailed pipeline diagram. In this case, careful measurements of each section of the horizontal length of the pipes must be carried out. Summarizing them, the master purchases the necessary amount of consumables. Based on the scheme of turns, changes in the system, the necessary number of fittings, adapters, shut-off valves is purchased.

Private house water supply scheme

Types of pipes for external and internal wiring differ in materials. For the street it is better to buy PET tubes, and for the house polypropylene. The cross section depends on the total length of the highway:

  • length up to 10 m - 20 mm;
  • 10-30 m - 25 mm;
  • from 30 m and above - 32 mm.

It is desirable that the pipes for cold water supply have a wall thickness of 2.8 mm or more.

At the preparation stage, all the necessary material and tools should be purchased. From the first you need to prepare:

  • Pump equipment. The unit can be taken superficial (for a well depth of up to 8 m) or immersed (a source depth of more than 8 m). Choose a device should be performance and power. It is desirable that the productivity of the pump does not exceed the flow rate of the well. Otherwise, it will quickly become empty. This threatens to failure of the unit.
  • Accumulator For a family of 2-3 people, a volume of 25-50 liters is enough.
  • Pressure gauge and pressure switch. With their help, it is possible to adjust the optimal atmospheric indicators in the system.
  • Coarse filter and check valves.
  • The required footage for internal and external wiring plus fittings.
  • Insulation, provided that the laying of the highway will be above the level of freezing of the soil. This is possible due to the relief of the suburban area and the type of soil on it with the presence of rock.
Electrofusion welding machines

From the tools should be prepared:

  • bayonet shovel;
  • hammer drill;
  • a soldering iron for polypropylene and special electrofusion joints for welding PET pipes;
  • pliers;
  • tamper;
  • hammer, nails.

The supply of the pipeline to the house is best done through the foundation.

Stages of holding water in a house

Water trench

Having a detailed water supply scheme from the well with his own hands, the master can perform all the work, even alone.

The first stage of installation is digging a trench from the walls of the source to the foundation of the house. It is desirable to deepen it by 1.5-1.8 meters (below the freezing level). Complex system turns are eliminated. The bottom of the trench needs to be well compacted and a layer of sand cushion 5-7 cm poured. It is well tamped.

After the trench is ready, it is necessary to use a puncher to form a technical hole in the well ring in order to bring a water intake pipe (if necessary, with a submersible pump). They act neatly, after substituting a container under the drilling site to collect possible construction debris.

After the technical hole is ready, proceed to install the pump. If a submersible model is used, the installation steps look like this:

  • Using the fittings, a water intake hose is attached to the outlet nozzle of the unit. About a meter from the junction, a non-return valve is mounted.
  • A vertical section of the water supply hose is connected using a swivel fitting to the pipe line, which is led out through a technical hole in the shaft ring. This place is then well waterproofed.
  • The pump itself must be lowered into the water and secured to the bracket. An electric cable is passed through it.
  • The water supply sleeve is connected to the storage membrane tank, which is installed either in the caisson or in the basement of the house.

If the master mounts the surface unit, the work is done as follows:

  • A special platform is allocated for the pump. The closer it is to the well, the better for the unit. The equipment can be located in the basement of the house or in a special caisson located near the source.
  • It is important to fix the pump legs to the floor in order to avoid its movement during vibration.
  • When using fittings, a water intake hose is attached to the inlet of the unit. At its end, it is important to fix the coarse filter. The length of the intake hose should be equal to the distance from the water mirror in the well to the inlet pipe.
  • A drain pipe is attached to the pump outlet, which is subsequently connected to the accumulator.
  • The main highway is diverted from it. The system can be organized in two versions - sequentially or collector way. The latter will provide a stable pressure in the system even when 2-3 valves are simultaneously turned on.

After installing the pumping equipment, it remains to lay all the piping lines. On the street, the tubes are placed in an insulating material: polystyrene shell, heating cable, basalt cotton wool, etc., connecting them in series.

In the place of entry of the highway into the house, a technical hole is made in the foundation using a puncher. It is reinforced with a steel sleeve and only after that a pipe section is mounted. All gaps must be well insulated, closed, sealed.

As soon as the external pipeline is laid, they perform the installation of the internal part of the water supply in the house.

After the tubes are routed, the pumping equipment should be set up. The surface unit and accumulator never start dry. Therefore, they need to be filled with water through special technical holes.

When starting the pump with a hydraulic tank, the lower and upper pressure of the accumulator is regulated so that the station responds to turning the equipment on and off. The optimal indicator is a range of 1.5-3 atm.

After debugging the pressure, it is important to check the entire system for leaks. If they are not there, the station turns on and off regularly, you can backfill the trench. It is better not to compact the soil here, so as not to damage the pipes. It is advisable to pour it periodically after subsidence.

Common mistakes

Reverse osmosis filters produce the highest quality water treatment

The most common mistakes made by inexperienced craftsmen lead to the need for complex repairs later.

  • Improper deepening of the highway above the level of soil freezing in the region. This can cause the water in the system to freeze.
  • Lack of insulation material when laying the pipeline above the level of freezing of the soil.
  • Insufficient pipe insulation in the place where the master decided to start the water supply to the house. Because of the bridges of cold, ice can form in this area.
  • Incorrect positioning of the submersible or intake hose pump above the mark of the static water mirror. In this case, the unit will periodically work dry.
  • Wrong pump selection for performance. Too powerful a unit will quickly drain the source. Weak - will not give the right amount of water to the family or will burn out over time.
  • Lack of check valves after the accumulator and pump. Then the water will periodically drain back, disrupting the operation of the equipment.
  • Incorrect adjustment of pressure indicators in the system at which the pump will pump continuously or vice versa will not turn on for a long time.

To improve the autonomous water supply from the well, it is advisable to install a good filtration system and a heating boiler.
