Many owners do not think about how to make ventilation on the balcony, believing that it is enough to open the window. But in the cool season, this method of ventilation of the balcony is unacceptable. Some owners solve the problem of supply ventilation of the balcony using air conditioning. Simultaneously with the balcony, it serves a nearby room. If you entrust the installation of the air conditioner to specialists, then the owner will not have to do anything.

However, this method is quite expensive. Those who would like to learn how to make ventilation on the balcony with cheap methods should use the following advice.

How to make ventilation on the loggia with your own hands

The ventilation on the balcony must be equipped either at the top of the wall or at the bottom. In especially difficult cases, if one fan is not enough, one is installed at the top, the other at the bottom.

This arrangement of ventilation openings provides natural air convection, complemented by forced draft if necessary.

To work on installing the ventilation of the balcony you will need:

    • drill or perforator;
  • two computer fans (or one if the hole is one).

Using a drill, make a hole equal to the diameter of the fan. As a rule, fencing of balconies made of concrete. Therefore, a carbide drill or hammer drill is required.

To activate the air movement in the supply ventilation of the balcony, we insert a fan into the hole. One will be directed to the flow of air, the other to blow. To change the direction of movement of the fan, the connection poles are changed. Thus, from below, air will be blown out from the balcony, and fresh from the street will be blown from above.

However, in winter, cold air will enter through the fan holes. Therefore, there are two solutions: make the system removable and just plug the holes with something. Or come up with dampers: some craftsmen make them from plywood upholstered with batting or polystyrene. Doors are attached with screws. You can spend a little more and purchase special exhaust fans equipped with plastic doors.
