Do-it-yourself home-made air conditioner from the refrigerator, plastic bottles and a fan

To maintain a comfortable indoor temperature in hot weather, people invented air conditioning. Unfortunately, industrial devices are not cheap, in addition, when buying a factory device, there is a risk that most of the time it will only take up space, collecting dust inside the unit. A budget air conditioner with your own hands will not be more effective than a factory one, however one of the options for home-made devices will improve the microclimate of a small room. In most cases, you will need the usual materials available in each house.

Air conditioner made of plastic bottles and fan

It is recommended to prepare ice tanks with a reserve

DIY plastic bottle air conditioning will not take up much space in the room. It is easy to assemble and does not need to buy anything - you only need a fan.

For the most primitive, but working air conditioner, take 4-8 plastic bottles for mineral water or soda. Fill the containers with water, place in the freezer. After the water freezes, attach the bottles to the protective casing of the home desktop fan.

Rotating blades will scatter the cold air coming from frozen vessels. To prevent the water from melting too quickly, add ordinary table salt to it before freezing.

For a long cooling process, prepare 8-9 bottles, some of which will be stored in the refrigerator, and some will be placed on the fan.

The easiest option is to use wet gauze. Hang it over the open windows and in front of the fan. With natural ventilation, moisture will evaporate and spread throughout the room. Rotating blades will support the process. This method is especially effective for combating stuffiness at night.

Mini air conditioning from a desk fan

For the device you will need a copper tube, two pieces of a plastic or rubber hose corresponding to a diameter tube, and several plastic clamps. All this is sold in a car parts store. It is better to use a soft annealed tube with a diameter of 8-10 mm.

Try to carefully twist the tube so that there is a gap of several millimeters between the turns, and make the total size of the entire “heat exchanger” of the air conditioner approximately equal to the diameter of the blades. Bring the inlet and outlet of the spiral tube out, put pieces of thin hose on the ends.

The distance between the turns should be 5-10 mm

If there is a sink or washbasin nearby, connect running water to one end of the home-made air conditioner tube and remove the other to drain, for example, into a sink.

Attach the entire structure to the fan guard using plastic clamps. Turn on the water and fan. Cooling from constantly circulating water will dissipate around the room.

This method is suitable, for example, for the kitchen. However, if the faucet is too far, it may be difficult to hold running water. In addition, counters make such an air conditioner too expensive.

The second method is the same design with a copper tube, only any container with water will act as a source of moisture for the air conditioner. The pump for the home aquarium will be responsible for the circulation of fluid through the system.

Connect the pump to one end of the copper tube, put the hose on the other end and lower it into the same container from where water will be pumped.Moisture from the tank will be driven through the copper tube of the air conditioner and returned.

If the test run is successful, add ice to the bucket for best performance.

Water container cooling device

A small desktop air conditioner will turn out from a plastic container that can be found in any home.

To disperse the air in the air conditioner, you can use a computer fan from the old system unit. The principle remains unchanged. Put ice with water in a container. A fan will help the evaporated liquid spread around the house. If the container is long enough, cut out the holes in the cover for the two fans. They can be fixed with bolts or self-tapping screws.

This model of air conditioning will not cool the entire room, but if you put it on your desktop, the effect will be.

How to make air conditioning from a radiator

You will need a car radiator from Lada or Volga, a 12 Volt car fan, a fan frame (casing) for installation, a 12 V electric auto pump. You also need rubber tubes that are installed on the radiator, clamps for them and sealant. A computer power supply is suitable as a current source.

Car radiator

The radiator needs the simplest without automation, you need to make a bracket for it. During the assembly of the air conditioner, the radiator is installed vertically. The hole for the temperature sensor is closed with a stopper or a piece of the plugged tube.

Arrange the water supply from below, and the reverse flow from above. To remove air jams, you will need an additional tap, otherwise the air conditioner will work with low efficiency.

Power is taken from the computer PSU. Fix the fan together with the casing to the radiator, the pump will drive water through the entire circuit of the air conditioner. Assemble the bracket to be mounted on a bucket of water or another container. Condensate formed on the surface of the radiator will drain into the same bucket.

When working in one room, the temperature drops by 4-5 degrees. The main thing is to close the door to the kitchen and bathroom more tightly, it is from there that flows of warm air come.

DIY air conditioning from the fridge

To assemble the air conditioner, a small salon radiator of the stove from a car is suitable - 12 Volts, new or used. You will also need a car washer pump or an aquarium pump, hoses, wires and any available 12V power supply, for example, a PC or laptop power supply.

The fan must be placed on the cover, immediately after it the radiator will be attached. Make a bracket made of plastic, on which both elements will be mounted, and install it on the cover using bolts. In addition to screws for mounting fans, it is recommended to use various adhesives and sealants.

Pour ice into the finished container (using the cold accumulator is not the worst option), pour water, lower the pump or pump. Do not forget about fixing the rubber hoses of the air conditioner with clamps.

If you want to create a universal design of an air conditioner for home and car, make an adapter for the cigarette lighter, the car network has a 12V voltage.

Spray humidifier

Such devices increase air humidity, so it makes sense to use them in a dry climate. If the humidity is already high, a spray air conditioner will only aggravate the situation.

For assembly, you need a fan and a case, for example, a plastic bucket with a lid. Design the simplest device for air intake, for which use plastic sanitary taps or bottles, depending on the type of fan.

The principle of operation is to take air from the outside with a fan and pump it into the evaporation chamber. Passing through the water, the air stream cools and goes outside.Insert the fan into the air inlet so that it draws in an external air stream and directs it into the air conditioner tank.

A nozzle with the ability to control the flow will act as an outlet pipe.

Periodically, it is necessary to add water to the air conditioner tank. With low humidity and average fan power, the liquid flow rate will be about 1 l / h, therefore it is recommended to use a bucket or container with a lid as a container.

Corrugated air conditioner

Air conditioning fan and corrugated aluminum pipe

The simplest practical method is the manufacture of a device using an aluminum corrugated pipe and an exhaust fan. All this can be found in large construction supermarkets or in the market. It is advisable to take a fan for the air conditioner powerful in order to achieve the best result.

Dock the pipe with the cooler, aluminum stretches well and keeps its shape. Wrap with tape and install on a stand above floor level. Lift the end of the air conditioner pipe-corrugation above the floor.

Pour water directly into the pipe. Put rags in it so that the water is absorbed: approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of the rags and water in relation to the diameter of the pipe.

After turning on the air conditioner, a decrease in the outlet temperature is observed, compared to the inlet temperature, by 4-5 degrees.

If it is possible to use ice, the cooling effect of the air conditioner will be even better.

The biggest drawback of the design is that it takes up a lot of space, moving around the room is not very convenient. To prevent water from spilling out and the design of the air conditioner to be stable, make a frame from plywood.

Thus, to create an air conditioner with your own hands at home, you will need several primitive tools and materials, most of which can be purchased at car dealerships and construction markets. All the above designs have many solutions and the potential for modernization.
