Copper drains Aquasystem

The durability and reliability of the supporting structures and the facade of buildings largely depend on the correct selection and installation of the drainage system. Saving on its cost quickly turns into the need for expensive repairs. To avoid this, it is required to correctly select a high-quality drainage system.

Advantages and disadvantages of gutter systems Aquasystems

Gutter systems of various materials have their pros and cons in use. The main advantages of constructions of the Aquasystem brand, which are made of copper, are:

  • Long service life - the manufacturer gives a guarantee for all components for 30 years.
  • High strength and reliability of copper gutters.
  • The patina formed on the surface of such parts is a good protection against external atmospheric influences.
  • For the manufacture of all components only high-quality metal is used.
  • You can use the gutters of the Aquasystem at temperature conditions from -60 to +120 degrees. This allows you to mount them in any climate zone.
  • The beautiful appearance of the design is complemented by decorative elements.
  • Copper drains do not require complicated maintenance.
  • Due to the high quality of all parts, there is no need to seal their joints, since gaps are not formed when connecting.

Among the disadvantages of such structures, the following points can be distinguished:

  • The prices of drainage systems of Aquasystems made of copper are much higher than for analogs made of plastic, steel or aluminum.
  • The design is incompatible with some types of roofing materials.
  • Fastening of copper elements cannot be carried out using steel or aluminum hardware.

Gutters are not recommended to be installed if cermet, galvanized steel or bituminous materials are used as roofing.

Varieties of copper systems

The copper elements of the gutters of the Aquasystem are:

  • from natural copper without treatment;
  • factory patinated;
  • oxidized.

Aquasystem gutters are available in two versions. In the first case, the diameter of the pipes is 90 mm, and the size of the gutters is 125 mm. It is suitable for a roof, the slope of which is from 60 to 100 m2. In the second embodiment, pipes with a diameter of 100 mm and gutters with a size of 150 mm are used. This design is used if the area of the roof slope is from 80 to 130 m2.

Parts & Accessories

Drains of Aquasystems include:

  • gutters having different throughputs;
  • pipes of various sizes;
  • funnels for gutters;
  • inner and outer corner details of the gutters;
  • universal plugs;
  • knees and bends;
  • gutter hooks and round pipe clamps.

A variety of additional details and decorative elements are also produced.

Features of the installation of gutters Aquasystem

For independent installation of the gutter system Aquasystem the following tools will be required:

  • roulette,
  • mallet,
  • scissors for metal,
  • electric screwdriver or screwdriver,
  • pliers
  • bracket

If a copper structure is mounted, it is worth using special protective gloves. It should be borne in mind that such systems are demanding on the quality of installation.

The calculation of the number of necessary basic and additional parts is based on the type of roof, its size and building height. When installing the system, the following points should be considered:

  • Gutters are mounted on all sides of the roof slopes.
  • The standard length is 3 meters.
  • For joining parts of gutters and corner elements, special connectors are used.
  • At the ends of the gutter, plugs with a seal are installed.
  • The maximum size of the gutter, which falls on one funnel and pipe, is 10 meters.

The slope of the elements towards the riser is at least 2 mm per 1 m.

Fasteners

Fixing hooks are made of three types. Short ones are used when mounting parts on the windshield or on the front side of the rafters. Long and elongated are used in the case of fastening elements to the eaves overhang or rafters.

  • Hooks for fastening parts are installed in increments of 50 cm to 90 cm. They are fixed on self-tapping screws.
  • When installing copper systems, the pitch between the hooks is from 30 cm to 60 cm. Stainless steel hardware or passivated screws are used for fastening.
  • Corner elements are mounted on separate hooks.

In the place where the various elements of the system are joined, it is worth considering the installation of additional fasteners.

Gutters

For each individual riser of a one-story building, it is provided:

  • one pipe of a standard length of 3 meters;
  • two pipes 1 meter long;
  • one funnel for the gutter;
  • two universal knees;
  • one branch for a pipe;
  • Three sets for fixing the riser.

Universal elbows are used to allow the riser to bend around the eaves overhang. If the overhang is more than 25 cm between two elements, an additional pipe is required. An outlet is mounted on the bottom of the riser. The distance from the ground to the edge of the drainpipe is 20 to 25 cm.

The high cost of the copper drainage systems of the Aquasystem is fully paid for by their long service life and aesthetic appearance. It is disadvantageous to install them on roofs with cheap and short-lived roofing materials.
