Reading and reporting from electric meters

In order for the supplier of electricity to not have problems with the consumer, the meter is installed in the latter, fixing the energy consumption for a certain period of time. In order to charge for the consumed resource in a timely manner, it is important to take readings of electricity meters in time. Since in practice various types of accounting devices and their modifications are used, it is difficult for a simple person to understand this issue at first. To do this, you will have to understand how to take readings from various models of electric meters, and then transfer them to the address of the supplier company.

Methods of transmitting readings

You can send or submit readings from the electricity meter in several ways, given that they are provided for in the model installed in the apartment. Among the possible options for sending data, a number of techniques stand out that significantly facilitate this process.

Automated Accounting

Modern electronic meters have the option of automatic reading, as they are part of an integrated system of commercial electricity metering (KSUER). With their help, without human intervention, the following operations are performed:

  • data collection and processing through a special program;
  • transferring them to the supplier using the same software method;
  • storage of information on energy consumption for reporting periods.

At industrial enterprises, special sensors are used to collect it, which are connected to the automatic control system of the electronic control system of electrical energy using electric converters.

Online method

Electric meter readings can be transmitted online independently.

Electricity readings are often made over the Internet. Especially for these purposes, several algorithms for sending data have been developed that are implemented through the representative office of the supplier in the network. For this, registration on the company’s website with an email address is required. Further procedure:

  1. Follow the link with the name "pass the testimony."
  2. Enter the number designation of the personal account.
  3. Mark the tariff (account number) of the appliance.
  4. Enter data for the current period in the proposed columns (indicators for the last month will be displayed in the next window).

Since the calculation of payment is automatic, when filling out the graph, you should be very careful: carefully enter all the numbers, taking into account gaps and other requirements of the program.

The advantage of this method is the ability to obtain additional information regarding the selection of suitable tariffs, to receive news, as well as the ability to maintain cost statistics. If you have questions related to the payment of the consumed resource, with the replacement of the electrical appliance or its maintenance, you can use the "Feedback".

Via SMS

For those who do not work with the Internet, there is the possibility of transmitting readings via SMS

For users who constantly type SMS on their phone, it will take no more than 1 minute to enter the readings of energy consumption. The only difficulty encountered when using this technique to testify is adherence to the text message format. In the event of a violation, it simply will not reach the addressee, or there may be a mistake in calculating the estimated amount.

To eliminate problems, it is important to know the following:

  • The telephone number of the organization to which the electricity bill is being sent.
  • personal account;
  • meter data for the current period.

Some companies add the requirement to indicate the symbolic designation of the tariff used.

The personal account is in a paper receipt, and the meter readings are numbers on the display of the device, located before the decimal point.

Sending SMS messages is the best option for consumers who do not work with the Internet. A big plus of this method is the ability to submit data at any time and not depend on the availability of a network.

Email

Readings can be sent via email

To transmit readings by electronic means, you need to know the address of the organization that supplies electricity. You will also need to remember and correctly fill out the template letters, as they are processed automatically. The text of the packages is similar to that sent when working with SMS - the personal account and current values are indicated.

Transferring data in this way is convenient for users who are used to communication and constantly checking their mail. When typing, entering unnecessary characters and spaces is prohibited. At the slightest violation of the order of filling in the template, it will be impossible to transmit data. At the same time, the accrual for the current month will be incorrect.

Telephone testimony

You can submit data on electricity by phone

To submit data on electricity, you can use a regular phone - inform the operator verbally. But first, you should master the technique of taking readings and compiling a report on these data. Writing off information from a multi-tariff counter, for example, is not at all so simple.

Contact numbers for contacting operators are usually indicated on a paper receipt.

In some cases, you have to communicate with an answering machine, the procedure for working with which is no different from the same operation provided for other cases.

One more option of telephone communication is suitable for those who are accustomed to “live” communication. In this case, the supply of electricity readings is carried out in the form of an answer to the operator's questions asked according to a certain template. For this purpose, in the management companies, a specially appointed employee is responsible for receiving data. On certain days of the month, the responsible person receives calls from customers with the subsequent entry of the received information into the Energy Sales program.

Due to the planned work of the operator on certain days of the month, it is possible to control the timeliness of payment of bills. The advantages of dialogue data transfer include convenience of operations and time saving. The only difficulty in servicing customers in this way is the constant busyness of the line and the need to repeatedly call back.

Reading from various types of meters

The variety of industrial models of electric meters does not allow us to describe the process of taking readings in the form of a generalized instruction. The procedure in each case must be considered individually.

Day-night electricity meters and multi-tariff meters

Metering zones for double tariff meter

Almost all modern models have a built-in electronic timer, which allows you to record electricity for different time zones. In 2 tariff devices there are two of them: daytime (T1) and nighttime (T2). For each of them, energy consumption is accounted for in accordance with a special tariff schedule, taking into account the “night” discount.

Multi-tariff meters are designed for three metering zones:

  • T1 is the peak period.
  • T2 - half peak.
  • T3 - night mode.

The duration of each of them is established in accordance with the current provisions on multi-tariff accounting.

Mercury 200 and related models

Mercury 200

Different models from this manufacturer have the same interface for reading. To control the process itself, only two buttons are used. One of them, designated as “Input”, is intended to change the tariffs at which payment is charged.The second button with a ring with an arrow on it is used to select a view mode.

The procedure for working with such a counter:

  1. By briefly pressing the second button, the desired mode is selected ("A", for example).
  2. A red line should appear above the corresponding icon.
  3. Upon completion of the mode setting, the information on tariff T will appear on the display.
  4. The values of the remaining tariff plans (T2 and T3) are viewed by pressing “Enter”.

In the final form, the information is displayed in the form of a tariff symbol and readings with two significant digits after the decimal point. In the presence of special software, the counter models Mercury are connected to a PC and allow you to receive additional information about the accounting system.

"Energomera" CE 101, CE 102 and others

The principle of obtaining data from devices manufactured by Energomera is the same as in the case of Mercury. The manufacturer offers its customers 2-day tariffs “day-night” or their multi-tariff counterparts. Every 10-15 seconds, data on time zones characteristic of a particular type of electric meter is displayed on their scoreboard.

Depending on the selected model, two or three buttons are located on the instrument panel. To change the values, the “PRSM” button is used, which means “view”. In all other respects, the procedure for taking readings is no different from the procedures described earlier. Payment is made for integer kW / h, so the numbers after the point are not taken into account (they are not registered when the data is submitted). The ability to view them over the past period in these models is not provided.

Micron Counters

Micron Electricity Meter

The developers of these devices provided them with only one switch button for the convenience of the user. At the bottom of the screen, they provided a window for the tariff zones T1-T4 and the additional symbol "R +". This is explained by the fact that the meter is sometimes installed on a pole or on the wall of a house, where the conditions for taking readings are far from comfortable.

When the button is pressed, the data appears on the indicator one by one, and the checkmark next to its symbol indicates the zone number. If it appears above R +, it means that the time has come to rewrite the report. The general algorithm of actions is to wait until two checkmarks appear each time after the next click, and only then proceed to the next tariff.

Three phase meter reading

Meter reading

Before taking readings from a 3-phase meter and submitting information, it turns out which of the devices is at the user's disposal:

  • old type meter equipped with transformers;
  • electronic direct connection device.

The procedure for taking data from these devices is similar to how it was done in single-phase devices. In old calculating devices, each of the working phases is connected via a current-reducing transformer. In this case, for the correct data transfer, you will need to make adjustments in the form of an additional factor (transformation coefficient). The procedure for calculating expenses in this case is specified in the contract, where the values of conversion factors are indicated. The correctness of the transmitted testimony ensures the correctness of the statement of electricity bills and the reduction of the risk of overpayment for the consumed resource to zero.

Technical metering of energy consumption is very important for both sides of the process (supplier and consumer). A well-organized control system and timely payment allow you to avoid unpleasant moments associated with their mutual obligations. Data for light and other consumed resources must be submitted within the time period specified in the contract. However, in each case, they can vary within small boundaries (from 15 to 26, for example).
